'What to do by leaving it' Lee Yo-won drew a line on rumors of a shotgun wedding.
On the 7th episode of vN STORY variety show 'What to do by leaving it' episode 24, actress Lee Yo-won appeared as a guest.
That day, Lee Young-ja and Lee Yo-won revealed they were privately acquainted as former APT. residents and that this was their first time on the show.
Lee Young-ja also asked, "During 'Young-ja's heyday' celebrities came, but you were too young then, and you got married as soon as you became famous. Did you leave after 'Queen Seondeok'?" Lee Yo-won was married at 23 in 2003. She replied, "It was much earlier. 'Queen Seondeok' must have been filmed when I was 30."
Having married young and already the mother of two daughters and a son, Lee Yo-won's youthful looks amazed Pak Se-ri, who said, "I can't believe it." When Lee Yo-won said, "My eldest daughter is 23 and a junior in college," Pak Se-ri again expressed surprise, saying, "If it were a man, I would have mistaken her for a girlfriend."
Above all, Lee Yo-won emphasized, "I gave birth immediately after getting married. I married in January and gave birth in December," saying it was absolutely not a premarital pregnancy. When Lee Young-ja and Pak Se-ri expressed suspicion, Lee Yo-won said, "No, everyone thinks that. My eldest even asked when she was little, 'Did you have me because of an accident?'" in disbelief.
Meanwhile, about her eldest daughter who went abroad to study at 23, Lee Yo-won said, "I'm not worried," adding, "I'm fine as long as she doesn't ask for money. If she contacts me saying she's out of pocket money, I tell her to manage on her own," showing a cool attitude that drew attention.
Then Lee Young-ja asked, "Is there a moment when you felt proud even though she's my daughter?" and Lee Yo-won said, "When she got into college. You got into that college?" revealing she had been accepted to the prestigious U.S. art school RISD.
She continued, "Originally she wanted New York University but failed the early admission. I wasn't expecting it at all. She originally didn't want to go to art school. She wanted to go to NYU, and when she failed I said, 'This is your work,'" she said.
Furthermore, Lee Yo-won reportedly made a rather rational remark instead of offering consolation. She said, "Why do you want to be consoled? I told you to manage your grades then, but you didn't study in middle school so you were lacking and that's why it didn't work out." Hearing this, Lee Young-ja asked, "You love her a lot, right?" and Lee Yo-won laughed, "Of course."
