Actor Kim Sung-Cheol and YooA played husband and wife.
On Jan. 8 at Lotte Cinema World Tower Mall in Seoul, a press screening for the film 'Project Y' was held. Han So-hee, Jeon Jong-seo, Kim Shin-rock, Jung Young-joo, Lee Jae Kyoon, YooA, Kim Sung-Cheol and director Lee Hwan attended the event.
Project Y, which opens on Jan. 21, is a work that depicts the story of Miseon and Doyeong, who dreamed of a different tomorrow while living in the middle of a glittering city, stealing black money and gold bullion at the edge of life. With the casting news of unique young stars Han So-hee and Jeon Jong-seo alone, Project Y, which has already drawn expectations, adds reliable actors Kim Shin-rock and Jung Young-joo, and Kim Sung-Cheol, along with the charming scene stealer Lee Jae Kyoon and YooA, promising a film that's fun to watch.
Especially, although Kim Sung-Cheol and YooA have small roles in the work, they have shown chemistry as a "married couple." When asked about this, Kim Sung-Cheol joked, "First of all, thank you for calling us a married couple."
He said, "Of course the word wife comes up, but it's a bit hard to call us a married couple. I only filmed one scene with actor YooA, and it was the first time I met her that day. But she was already in makeup. I had seen her before in music videos, so I watched her and thought, 'Is this the same person?' Of course, Tosa-jang must have made Ha-kyung like that. I came into it feeling very apologetic because I saw her already made up," he said with a laugh.
He continued, "In fact, we did create a backstory. Tosa-jang probably considers how he appears to the outside world important. He's the type to react sensitively to visual things, so we said that getting married early might have become a weapon for him, but that story doesn't come out in the film. It's very regrettable that the married couple chemistry is missing. I hope there will be an opportunity sometime in the future," he said.
YooA said, "I sat in makeup and waited, and there was a scene where senior Sung-Cheol stared at me. At that time, my bloody makeup felt real and painful, and it felt chilling. So his cold look at me then helped my acting more. I was glad to have that married couple moment, even if only like that. I'm very grateful. If it happens again next time," she left with a laugh.
