Singer and actor Park Yuchun, who left the group TVXQ! and performed as JYJ, visited Korea after about five years and shared an update.
On the 8th, Park Yuchun posted on his SNS, "Today was so cold. But it was fun. Thank you. Good old memories and an exciting future," along with several photos.
In the photos, Park Yuchun, his hair bleached, attracted attention as he was seen visiting a gopchang restaurant with his younger brother Park Yuhwan and acquaintances, or walking the streets wearing a beanie and a mask. He was also shown comfortably enjoying a meal at a local Korean restaurant and smiling brightly.
Earlier, on the 7th Park Yuchun left a post saying, "After five years. Still, I was glad we could be together," hinting at his visit to Korea. By posting messages written in Japanese along with successive photos, he effectively announced his entry into the country himself.
Park Yuchun debuted in 2003 with TVXQ! and gained great popularity, but after leaving the group in 2009 he re-debuted as JYJ with Kim Jaejoong and Kim Junsu. He later expanded his activities to include acting, but in 2016 a sexual scandal and in 2019 an allegation of methamphetamine use caused another major shock.
At the time, Park Yuchun held a press conference and strongly denied it, saying, "I have never used drugs nor have I ever encouraged anyone to do so. If it were true I would retire from the entertainment industry," but he was ultimately arrested on drug use charges and sentenced to 10 months in prison with a two-year suspended sentence. He later announced his retirement from the entertainment industry but reversed that decision and continued activities overseas, focusing on Japan and Thailand.
Last year he was also listed on the National Tax Service's list of high-amount, habitual tax delinquents. According to the National Tax Service, Park Yuchun was reported to have five cases, including capital gains tax, totaling about 400 million won in unpaid taxes.
Nevertheless, Park Yuchun has continued overseas activities, including a recent tour in Japan, and news of this visit to Korea has once again put him at the center of attention.<
