The mission to obtain the 'I am SOLO' super date pass led to parents' unabashed "reality back-smashing" remarks.
On the afternoon of the 7th, the real dating program 'I am SOLO' on ENA and SBS Plus revealed the "marriage-expected couple" who are already imagining the future from the date and the "cute" scene of the "super date".
To get the super date pass, older-and-younger couples faced the hurdle of having to call each of their parents and get permission for a meeting with someone 9 years younger (or older).
When Young-ja called her mother and asked about the man 9 years younger, her mother curtly replied, "Oh my, how naive. Are you trying to raise another younger sibling?" which devastated the scene. Young-ja, flustered, tried to smooth things over by saying, "He's a mature man. He's someone I want to rely on," but her mother reacted coldly, saying, "If he's in his 20s and nine years younger than you..."
When Young-ja persisted and added, "He'll be thirty next year," her mother exploded with practical anger, saying, "Are you crazy?" which once again drew laughs. When Young-ja asked, "Should I take mom along or not?" her mother replied, "I don't want to," and ultimately delivered a firm "no."
The mothers' "iron wall" didn't end there. Sun-ja and Hyeon-suk also called their mothers, but the results were the same. Sun-ja's mother, without hesitation, said, "I'm opposed," and Hyeon-suk's mother also delivered a cutting remark, "Opposed. Do you want to raise a child?" crushing their hopes for the super date pass.
In the end, despite their daughters' desperate pleas, the mission failed when they ran up against their mothers' strong opposition, and the super date pass went to Yeong-ho and Jeong-suk, who won their parents' approval.
