Actor the late Ahn Jae-hwan died 18 years ago, and Jeong Sun-hee mentioned the possibility of remarriage.
As 2026 began, it has been 18 years since Ahn Jae-hwan passed away. Ahn Jae-hwan was found dead on Sept. 8, 2008, inside his parked car on the roadside in Hagye-dong, Nowon District, Seoul. He was 36.
News of Ahn Jae-hwan's death was even more tragic because it came a year after his marriage to Jeong Sun-hee. At the time, Ahn Jae-hwan was known to have endured a difficult time due to financial difficulties and debt pressure, and Jeong Sun-hee, who struggled to cope with the grief of losing her husband, was engulfed in cruel conspiracy theories and criticism.
Jeong Sun-hee once confessed, "I was even deprived of the chance to grieve," recalling the past. For more than 10 years she lived withdrawn from the world to the point where she could not even read comments, holding her breath. Breaking a long silence and coming back into the world, Jeong Sun-hee received consolation and support from people.
In a video recently released on her YouTube channel, Jeong Sun-hee saw the phrase "Thank you for holding on" carved into a neighborhood tree and said, "I didn't really hold on. I was just living my daily life, and looking back it became holding on." She was moved to tears, especially when a citizen sincerely apologized, saying, "I misunderstood a bit. After hearing the explanation, I understand now."
Having overcome the death of her ex-husband, conspiracy theories and criticism, Jeong Sun-hee is actively communicating with the public and regaining healthy laughter through her YouTube channel "Jip Nagan Jeong Sun-hee". In a video released on the 7th, she stirred interest by candidly expressing her thoughts on "remarriage" during a conversation with her close colleague Kim Young-chul.
When Kim Young-chul asked whether she intended to marry again, Jeong Sun-hee answered firmly, without hesitation, "No." She then showed her trademark wit by adding in a playful tone, "Not domestically."
After Ahn Jae-hwan's death, Jeong Sun-hee went through a difficult period but returned healthy, and thanks to warm support she is shining again.
