Comedian Jang Dong-min is astonished in the middle of Yeouido at a place that moves 2 trillion won in a single day.
On today (8th) episode of MBC variety show 'Save me! Holmes' (abbreviated 'Holmes'), actor Lee Sang-yeop, Jang Dong-min and Joo Woo-jae head out to Yeouido for the fourth installment of neighborhoods specialized by profession.
On this episode, to mark the new year 2026 and examine the economic outlook for the year, they visit Dong-Yeouido, the heart of Korea's finance. Actors Lee Sang-yeop, Jang Dong-min and Joo Woo-jae meet various people who work in the securities industry to hear their vivid stories, and they survey everything in Dong-Yeouido, including homes, offices and restaurants.
Stock investment expert and writer Park Min-soo joined them in the studio. Better known by the nickname 'Choi Go Min-soo,' he is a 28-year veteran Yeouido office worker and also works as a stock instructor and writer. He has appeared on several YouTube channels such as 'Chimchakman' and 'Ppanibottle,' drawing attention for his knowledge across various fields and tireless wit.
The three pass by the securities company buildings that fill Yeouido's streets and head to a building used as offices by professional investors. From the corridor entrance they sense something unusual, and they cannot help but admire the office interior, decorated with high-end finishes. Joo Woo-jae inspects the office with its impressive high ceilings, saying, "It's the office of investors I've seen in movies."
In particular, the panoramic view that overlooks the Yeouido securities district at a glance overwhelms viewers. Seeing this, Choi Go Min-soo explained, "The splendor displayed in the office is the art of temptation," and curiosity is aroused about the identity of the so-called boutique offices where super individual investors gather.
In a subsequent interview with the office representative, when someone said, "There is even a rumor that 2 trillion won moved in this building in a single day," the scene buzzed, and Jang Dong-min could not hide his surprise, saying, "Isn't that game money?" When Lee Sang-yeop joked, "Even game money I've never handled that much," Kim Sook added to the laughter by revealing, "I once had 2 trillion won (in a game)." Meanwhile, when the founder, who used to be a developer, explained the system trading method that automates transactions using an AI program, Joo Woo-jae, who admits he knows nothing about stocks, caught attention by widening his eyes and calling it the "extreme T investment method."
Finally, the three, timed with market close, visit a bar filled with memories of many Yeouido office workers. In the secret hideout of securities people located deep in the basement of the shopping complex, the bar owner said, "I've been here since Yeouido was dark," and revealed that he has kept the same spot for more than 40 years, prompting admiration.
