Group WJSN (WJSN) member Dayoung has been selected as the female solo singer to lead 2026.
Dayoung won the rookie female solo singer institutional sector award at the "2026 Korea First Brand Awards."
The "Korea First Brand Awards" is South Korea's largest brand awards ceremony that, based on consumer surveys, selects and announces the brands expected to lead the following year. Each year it selects brands that will lead Korea through nationwide consumer voting and deliberation by a panel of judges.
According to the domestic consumer survey conducted from Nov. 3 to 16 last year, Dayoung was selected as the rookie female solo singer expected to lead 2026, proving the explosive popularity of the "trend hot girl."
In September last year, Dayoung topped music shows with the title track "Body" from her first solo digital single "gonna love me, right?" Her healthy body line and stylish charm, combined with solid live vocals and performance, captured the hearts of global fans.
"Body" was listed in the United Kingdom's NME "The 25 best K-pop songs of 2025," U.S. Billboard "The 25 Best K-Pop Songs of 2025: Staff Picks," and The Hollywood Reporter "The 40 Best K-pop Songs of 2025," among others. U.S. Teen Vogue also named the "Body" music video as one of the best K-pop music videos of 2025, underscoring its intense popularity.
Meanwhile, Dayoung will continue her brilliant activities this year in various fields, including music.
