Rising as a national hero, 'Taxi Driver 3' reaches its finale amid an unstoppable box-office run.
SBS prime-time Friday-Saturday drama 'Taxi Driver 3' (written by Oh Sang-ho, directed by Kang Bo-seung) is a private revenge service drama about the mysterious taxi company Rainbow Transport and taxi driver Kim Do-gi carrying out revenge on behalf of wronged victims.
Returning two years after season 2, 'Taxi Driver 3' drew rave reviews for film-like direction, stronger character play by the "Rainbow dark heroes," a solid worldbuilding that connects seasons, and an all-time villain lineup. As a result, 'Taxi Driver 3' swept various domestic and international popularity indicators from its first week on air, then in its second week surpassed the daunting double-digit ratings mark and stayed on a smooth path. Moreover, at the 2025 SBS Drama Awards, lead actor Lee Je-hoon (as Kim Do-gi) won the grand prize for the second time with the 'Taxi Driver' series, announcing its ascent to an undisputed "national hero drama."
With only two episodes left until the finale, 'Taxi Driver 3' is setting new popularity records again and reaching its climax amid intense popularity. The most recent episode 14 recorded a peak nationwide rating of 18.5%, 15.1% in the Seoul metropolitan area, and 14.2% nationwide, breaking its own nationwide highest rating. In particular, the 20-49 rating hit 4.8%, peaking at 5.75%, easily taking first place among all broadcasts in the new year and continuing its overwhelming box-office run.
Its topicality is also heating up day by day. According to Good Data Corporation FUNdex's first week of January ranking (measured Dec. 29, 2025–Jan. 4, 2026), 'Taxi Driver 3' ranked first in the TV-OTT drama category, and in the TV-OTT combined cast popularity category, Lee Je-hoon proudly took first place.
OTT rankings are also overwhelming. In KinoKritics' integrated content ranking for the first week of January (measured Dec. 29, 2025–Jan. 4, 2026), which was released by the OTT content integrated search platform KINO RANKS, 'Taxi Driver 3' ranked first among all content including drama, film and entertainment, and on FlixPatrol's Jan. 5 'Korea Netflix top 10 series' chart, 'Taxi Driver 3' held the top spot. Also, on the world's largest content rating site IMDb, the episode-by-episode ratings for episodes 1–14 averaged 9.2 (as of Jan. 6), reaffirming its irreplaceable presence in the competitive content market.
Meanwhile, as viewers express regret about the end of 'Taxi Driver 3,' the final episodes that will crown the finale will air on the 9th (Fri) and 10th (Sat). The finale episode is expected to involve a revenge service set against a military base. Veteran actor Kim Jong-soo (as Oh Won-sang), a 41-year veteran, was listed as the final big villain, and with Jeon Sonee (as Yoo Sun-ah) making a special appearance, anticipation is rising for the "Taxi Driver 3" final story that will deliver an all-time climax.
