Group ILLIT's 'NOT CUTE ANYMORE' took another step closer to entering the U.S. Billboard main song chart, the Hot 100.
According to the latest chart (Jan. 10) released by U.S. music outlet Billboard on the 6th, ILLIT (Yun-a, Minju, Moca, Won-hee, Iroha)'s single album 1 title track 'NOT CUTE ANYMORE' rose seven spots from the previous week to rank No. 10 on the 'Bubbling Under Hot 100.'
The 'Bubbling Under Hot 100' is a chart that ranks the top 25 songs that narrowly missed the main Hot 100, and is used as one indicator of popular appeal. ILLIT's debut single 'Magnetic' also passed through this chart before entering the Hot 100, so attention is focused on future developments.
'NOT CUTE ANYMORE' also managed a rebound on the global song charts, which are compiled based on streaming data from more than 200 countries and territories worldwide. This week it sat at No. 52 on Billboard's 'Global (Excl. U.S.)' and No. 70 on the 'Global 200,' leaps of 49 and 64 spots, respectively, from the previous week.
Its rise on domestic music charts has also been steep. The song climbed Melon daily chart positions of 75 (Dec. 7), 59 (Dec. 9), 36 (Dec. 14), and recently hit No. 20 (Jan. 4). It is encouraging that despite being released more than a month ago, word of mouth has put it on a hit trajectory.
ILLIT will release their second Japanese digital single 'Sunday Morning' at midnight on the 13th, once again capturing the hearts of global fans. The song, which depicts the great, unstoppable power of love, was chosen as the opening theme for season 2 of the anime airing on Japanese terrestrial channels and OTT, 'Princess, "It's time for torture".'
