Singer Chuu (CHUU) recalled the false school violence accusation and expressed gratitude to her friends.
Chuu met with reporters on the 7th at a cafe in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam District, Seoul, for an interview about the release of her first full-length album "XO, My Cyberlove."
Chuu's first full-length album "XO, My Cyberlove" is an album that delicately captures the "changes in relationships" in an era where reality and virtuality overlap, and it previews a modern love story that interprets the form of love conveyed through digital signals with Chuu's distinctive vocals and sensibility.
After debuting as a member of girl group LOONA, Chuu began full-fledged activities as a solo singer by releasing her first solo mini album "Howl" on Oct. 18, 2023, and she continued to develop her own musical color by releasing mini album 2 "Strawberry Rush" on June 25, 2024, and "Only Cry in the rain" on Apr. 21, 2025. "XO, My Cyberlove" is especially meaningful as Chuu's first solo full-length album released on her 10th anniversary since debut.
Chuu, who said she is the type to give generously when she loves, said, "Maybe because I'm the eldest daughter, people often ask if I have maternal instincts toward my friends. I seem to have a side that wants to do things for others, create things for them, likes giving gifts, and wants to be a little overly kind to the people I like. Still, it's not that my friends receive that one-sidedly; we maintain a mutually very good relationship," she said.
Chuu said she still keeps ties with friends from school and is close enough to meet about once a month. Chuu said, "We meet about once a month, though sometimes that doesn't happen. When I meet my friends, I remember my childhood, and they are friends I'm consistently grateful for."
She continued, "There was a time when I was caught up in the absurd controversy of school violence, and those friends said it was ridiculous. At that time I didn't have many friends, so I couldn't even eat well at lunchtime. Even though I had applied for school lunch, I would go to the counseling room to chat with teachers and act like I was fine. I'm so grateful for the friends who spent that time with me."
Chuu expressed her gratitude, saying, "Those friends aren't singers, but they love music and love listening to my songs. Thanks to them, I realized I enjoy singing much more. Those friends are like the axis around which the Earth rotates for me."
Meanwhile, Chuu's first full-length album "XO, My Cyberlove" will be released through various music sites at 6 p.m. on the 7th.
