tvN You Quiz on the Block will feature a "one and only in the universe" special.
Tonight (7th, Wed) at 8:45 p.m., the 326th episode of You Quiz on the Block (directed by Heo Gang-seok, writer Lee Un-ju) will include astronomer Dr. Shim Chae-gyeong, "tiger counselor" Professor Lee Ho-seon who clears blocked hearts, voice actress Park Young-nam who is the voice of Jjanggu and is in her 60th year since debut, and actor Kwon Sang Woo appearing.
Astronomer Dr. Shim Chae-gyeong, Korea's top moon expert, will appear on You Quiz. Dr. Shim was named by Nature, one of the world's top three academic journals, as a "next-generation scientist who will lead lunar science for the next 50 years," and is also listed on the NASA Artemis II crew for the manned lunar exploration project scheduled for February next year. That day Dr. Shim will share a daily life of a "real astronomer" that differs from imagination, behind-the-scenes stories of participating in Korea's first lunar orbital probe Danuri, and mysterious stories about the moon and space. Viewers will also hear about Johnny Kim, the first Korean-American astronaut who loves Korean food and is dubbed "space's ultimate overachieving son," his must-have items for space travel chosen personally, and an indispensable playlist mentioning a song by BTS RM, adding to the curiosity. Like the existence of very special "space dust," the message "we can all become stars" is also expected to convey scientific insight and comfort.
You can also hear from Professor Lee Ho-seon, Korea's hottest "tiger counselor." Nicknamed the counseling world's plunger and the "dark Oh Eun-young" for his blunt comments and bone-hitting realistic solutions, Professor Lee will share empathetic counseling stories about family relationships such as couples and parents and children. From shocking cases that even a 27-year veteran counselor found astonishing to bold and refreshing couples counseling talk cases, everything will be revealed. He will also directly explain the meaning of the popular lecture keyword "Makgongnaman," which is about "how to age happily," and the family toast "Ppapiyong," raising curiosity. In addition, Yoo Jae-seok will preview the contact name he saved for his wife Na Kyung-eun on his phone, increasing anticipation for the broadcast.
The story of 80-year-old voice actress Park Young-nam, who has lived as Jjanggu for 26 years, will also deliver a deep impression. Celebrating her 60th year since debut as a voice actress this year, Park Young-nam is an active legend who voiced iconic cartoon characters that represent eras such as Atom, Frog Wangnuni, Dooly, Son Ogong, and Jjanggu, and was the Korean voice of Kevin in the film Home Alone. Park Young-nam, who says her speech and daily life have become one with the Jjanggu character, will present the behind-the-scenes birth of Jjanggu's voice completed through explosive vocal power and meticulous study, and a parade of memorable lines from beloved characters, bringing back forgotten childlike wonder and emotion. You will also hear laughter-filled stories such as the "Jjanggu grandmother" episode that even her grandchild who enlisted in the military was proud of, and anecdotes of escaping awkward situations using Jjanggu's voice. Park Young-nam, who devoted 26 years to one character and 60 years to a single path as a voice actress, is expected to deliver a heartfelt message to adult Jjanggu fans that will deeply resonate.
You will also meet the candid wit of actor Kwon Sang Woo, a sweet father and husband. Kwon will share his journey from the days as Song-ju oppa who tossed the boomerang of love, to being a first-generation Hallyu star, and into the third act of his acting life. Although he says he is now at the age of taking Line 5, he reportedly showed a distinct variety chemistry with Yoo Jae-seok through a more cheerful wit and talk.
Kwon Sang Woo will reveal stories including being forced to enlist in the military in his freshman year of college at his mother's request, the story of debuting as an actor at 26 after working as a model, and stories from the time he reigned supreme through many hits such as Stairway to Heaven and Over the Rainbow. In addition to anecdotes from his Song-ju oppa days, the original runner before Dex, the behind-the-scenes of the legendary "hermit crab meme" is also expected to add interest.
He will also open up about honest concerns and family stories as an actor celebrating his 25th debut anniversary. He candidly confesses that as he gets older he feels "like standing on the edge of a cliff" every time he works on a project, and he shares a special devotion to action as a pioneer of the fit-body craze and the behind-the-scenes of shooting the comedy film Heartman in which he threw his whole body into the work. He also shares a pleasant couple story with his wife Son Tae-young that involves no fights, adding to the laughs. The daily life of the Kwon Sang Woo–Son Tae-young couple, connected by the two magic words "Isn't it" and "Anyway," and his sincere stories as a "dad" will all be revealed. In addition, a Kwon Sang Woo–tailored quiz that devastated the set is also previewed, heightening anticipation for the broadcast.
