Jini makes her first steps as an actress through the film "Boy."
Jini will play the lead role Jane in the film "Boy," which opens on the 14th. The film has been officially invited to the 35th Fantasporto (Pan-Cine) Film Festival in Spain and is drawing critics' attention even before its release.
The film "Boy" is a neon noir that deals with incidents that occur at Texas Hot Springs, a dystopia for abandoned people, set in the fictional near-future city of Pogoo-si. It depicts, with sensory visuals, the story of how a single love destroys all order in a world rife with domination and violence.
In the film, Jini plays Jane, a character who newly moves into Texas Hot Springs and brings about the destruction of all order. Jane is a character who ventures into dangerous places to find her mother and who changes the local gang boss Rohan (Cho Byeongkyu), driving the film's tension.
Reports say Jini conveys a wide emotional range from a girl craving her mother's love to the toughness needed to survive in harsh environments. Through this first film challenge, Jini is expected to make her mark as an actor who leads the film's core by intricately portraying Jane's multidimensional aspects.
Jini, formerly of the group NMIXX, previously released her first EP album An Iron Hand In A Velvet Glove and participated in the OST "My Star" of the popular Naver webtoon "Office Romance, No Thanks!", among other diverse activities.
