The band CNBLUE (Jung Yong-hwa Kang Min-hyuk Lee Jung-shin) returns today (7th) with a full-length album that contains their distinctive identity.
CNBLUE will release their third full-length album 3LOGY (Thrillogy) and unveil the music video for the title track "Killer Joy" at 6 p.m. on the 7th on various music sites.
The third full-length album 3LOGY ties together CNBLUE's long-held band identity, the time they have walked through, the present, and the direction they will move forward into a single narrative. All 10 tracks are composed by the members, raising the musical completeness and authenticity. In addition, CNBLUE appears as co-producer for the first time, heralding the birth of a "career-defining masterpiece."
The title track "Killer Joy" is a pop-rock song notable for its dramatic dynamic development based on a modern sensibility, and it delivers a bold declaration to leave only pure joy with CNBLUE's unique energy. In particular, expectations for the stage they, known as "performance masters," will newly unfold on stage are reaching a peak.
The following are the Q&A about the release of the third full-length album 3LOGY directly provided by CNBLUE.
Q1. How do you feel about coming back with the third full-length album 3LOGY?
Jung Yong-hwa: Because it is a full-length album released after such a long time, I think this is the album I paid the most attention to so far. I tried to put the worldview that had been built inside me into the album.
Kang Min-hyuk: We're coming back with a full-length album after a long time. I'm more excited because we can present so much music in one album.
Lee Jung-shin: I'm excited and nervous to be able to release a full-length album without further delay.
Q2. Please introduce what kind of album the third full-length album 3LOGY is.
Jung Yong-hwa: If previous albums focused on the public, this time we focused on ourselves. I think it will fully show CNBLUE's inner side.
Kang Min-hyuk: In the sense that the three axes formed by the three members come together to form one system, everything was born in balance and harmony.
Lee Jung-shin: We decided on the album title with the meaning that the three members form axes to create one system, and all tracks are composed by the members.
Q3. Why did you choose "Still, a Flower" as the pre-release track and "Killer Joy" as the title track?
Jung Yong-hwa: I thought there weren't many songs that could give strength and healing to many people, and I thought "Still, a Flower" was a song that fit perfectly for the new year. I hope this song will help people realize their existence and look around themselves. And I hope it becomes an opportunity to know what love is.
Lee Jung-shin: "Still, a Flower" was pre-released on the first day of the new year, and I thought it was a time when everyone needed comfort these days, so we naturally decided on it. For this title track, I basically wanted it to be upbeat. From the first time I heard the demo version of "Killer Joy," I liked it, so we chose it as the title track.
Q4. All members participated in songwriting for this album as well. Do the members have different musical styles? I'm also curious what you think of each other's music.
Jung Yong-hwa: The members have different personalities and pursue different musical styles. But ultimately the goals are similar, so we discuss that part a lot.
Kang Min-hyuk: Each member's musical style differs according to their emotions, thoughts, and personal tastes at the time, but we think about, worry over, and work on the team's music.
Lee Jung-shin: It's hard to put into words, but even if each person's style is different, I think the album is completed by respecting each other's colors.
Q5. If there is an episode memorable during the music video shoot, please tell us.
Jung Yong-hwa: I remember filming it with so much fun. I'm very satisfied because a music video with a different atmosphere from before came out.
Kang Min-hyuk: To express joy, I tried even bolder angles and expressions, and I was glad they were captured well. Everyone reacted well on set, and it was more exciting because it was different from the previous drum shoots.
Lee Jung-shin: I filmed passionately as if burning up. I think I enjoyed filming not only the performance scenes but also the acting moments.
Q6. Through this promotion, what kind of image do you want to show, and are there any reactions you want to hear or goals you want to achieve?
Jung Yong-hwa: Rather than the success of the album, the biggest goal is to show how CNBLUE has grown.
Kang Min-hyuk: I want to see everyone who listens to our music get excited and have fun.
Lee Jung-shin: I hope this album allows people to feel the team's growth in many aspects, not just musically. I hope many people listen to it.
Q7. You have a world tour with the same name as this album coming up. What are the members' determination? Any points to look forward to?
Jung Yong-hwa: I'm happy just to be able to steadily tour and perform. I'm very much looking forward to what we can show.
Kang Min-hyuk: I'm grateful to be able to perform many stages. I will show that grateful feeling fully on stage through our music.
Lee Jung-shin: For this tour, the set list will be even richer. I hope we can visit more places to perform our music live and that it will be a tour that conveys that energy well.
Q8. Since last year you have been sweeping various university festivals and other festivals and receiving hot attention. Do you feel that popularity? What do you think is CNBLUE's driving force?
Jung Yong-hwa: I think it's the experience built up through performances. Since many people still don't know us well, persuading those people is our homework.
Kang Min-hyuk: It seems many people like the energy we show on festival stages. At the same time, I'm grateful that people empathize with what we want to convey through music of various atmospheres.
Lee Jung-shin: I think the fans who trust and support us are our reason for existence and driving force. And the members' passion to keep moving forward is the same.
Q9. You are now in your 17th year since debut. Through various activities, you must have had many opportunities to meet junior groups. What kind of senior would you like to be when working with them?
Jung Yong-hwa: I would like to be remembered as a team that tried to bring the charm of band music a little closer to the public.
Kang Min-hyuk: I want to show what it looks like to do music for a long time as it is.
Lee Jung-shin: While preparing this album, I think I had more opportunities to meet many juniors. I want to be a colleague with whom they can comfortably share various stories and thoughts while making music together, not just a senior-junior relationship.
Q10. Lastly, please say a word to Voice, who always supports you.
Jung Yong-hwa: Voice, thank you so much. Thanks to you, making music is enjoyable, and I feel the reason to make music. Please give us lots of love in 2026 as well.
Kang Min-hyuk: Thank you so much for supporting CNBLUE's music and activities from 2010 to the present. We will continue to repay you with music and performances. Thank you.
Lee Jung-shin: I hope you enjoy this album a lot, as we put a lot of thought and care into it. I hope we can meet more often this year than last year!! Love you and thank you.
