The new year's one-and-only family healing movie Number One has confirmed a Feb. 11 release and has abruptly unveiled its teaser poster.
The film Number One (director Kim Tae-yong, provided by By4M Studio Co., Ltd.·Pencher Invest Co., Ltd., distributed by By4M Studio Co., Ltd., produced by Semicolon Studio·Studio Double M, co-produced by By4M Studio Co., Ltd.·IPD Company) tells the story of Ha-min (Choi Wooshik), who one day begins to see a number that decreases by one each time he eats his mother's food, and learns that when the number reaches zero his mother Eun-sil (Jang Hye-Jin) will die, prompting him to struggle to protect her.
The released teaser poster captures attention with Ha-min gazing at his mother's food, prepared with care and love, under warm sunlight. Though it looks like an ordinary meal, Ha-min's expression suggests a complex emotion passing over him, and the copy "my mother's time began to look like numbers" hints that the mysterious numbers visible only to him are actually his mother's remaining time, evoking curiosity and heavy emotion in viewers.
The mother's food, long taken for granted, becomes for Ha-min both love and fear, and approaches as the most precious thing he must painfully avoid in order to protect his mother. Why the numbers began appearing to Ha-min in particular and what other secrets lie behind them spark curiosity.
Meanwhile, Number One will reunite Choi Wooshik and Jang Hye-Jin, who were loved for their exceptional mother-and-child chemistry in Parasite, delivering deep empathy and resonance with both humor and warmth. Joining them, Gong Seung-yeon plays Rye-eun, Ha-min's girlfriend, and is expected to add another layer of warmth and comforting charm beside Ha-min, creating a multifaceted story.
