Actor Mun Ka-young's leading works are consecutively making an impact on global OTT platforms, firmly establishing her presence.
Global OTT Rakuten Viki and Japan's major streamer U-NEXT released a list of "popular Korean drama in 2025" that included Mun Ka-young–starring "My Dearest Nemesis" and "Law and The City" side by side.
Rakuten Viki revealed on its official social media the six most beloved Korean drama distributed across overseas regions including the Americas, Europe and Oceania, and among them "My Dearest Nemesis" and "Law and The City" were chosen together.
In particular, on U-NEXT's 2025 ranking of Korean drama with high view counts, "My Dearest Nemesis" ranked first and "Law and The City" ranked second, showing a meaningful achievement of a single actor's works simultaneously topping the rankings. Also included in U-NEXT's 2025 list of talked-about works was the 2020 broadcast "True Beauty," proving that it has become content that continues to be loved over time.
"My Dearest Nemesis" and "Law and The City" both delivered clear results domestically and internationally at the time of their release. "My Dearest Nemesis" recorded the highest 20-49 target ratings in its time slot across cable and generalist channels for all episodes (12 episodes), and within one week of release it ranked No. 1 in 136 countries and regions on Rakuten Viki, No. 1 in the Korea and Asia drama category on U-NEXT, and No. 2 on the main chart, receiving an explosive response.
"Law and The City" also reached top five in 150 countries and regions on Rakuten Viki, No. 1 on the U-NEXT drama chart and No. 3 on the main chart, and by tvN Asia standards achieved the best performance among tvN dramas broadcast in 2025. Riding the show's popularity, Mun Ka-young and Lee Jong-suk met about 20,000 local fans in Kuala Lumpur through a "star tour," making the global K-drama craze tangible.
Mun Ka-young has been loved for communicating with domestic and international viewers through her works by completing convincing characters across genres from romantic comedy to melodrama and coming-of-age narratives. Her stable acting skills, delicate emotional expression and the chemistry that naturally blends projects and characters continue to be talked about among global viewers as well as in Korea.
Mun Ka-young is continuing her activities on the screen beyond the small screen. Meeting audiences through the movie "If We", she has received praise for an acting transformation of a different resolve than her previous image and for her finely handled emotional expression, and on its sixth day since release the film recorded a cumulative audience of 540,000 based on the Korean Film Council (KOFIC) integrated computer system for box office ticketing, drawing audiences to theaters.
Expectations are growing even more for Mun Ka-young's trajectory as she expands her filmography with her own color in each work.
