Actor Go Ara mourned the passing of actor the late Ahn Sung-ki.
On the afternoon of the 6th, Go Ara posted a photo of herself with the late Ahn Sung-ki on her social media and wrote, "Senior, who by your very presence served as an example and a great lesson. I sincerely respect and thank you." It was reported that Go Ara shed tears after paying her respects at the funeral hall that day.
She added, "Every moment I spent with senior was an honor. I will reflect on the lessons you taught and the way you showed yourself. I will not forget," conveying her feelings.
The late Ahn Sung-ki and Go Ara had a connection through acting together in a work. The two worked together in the film "The Face Reader," which was released in January 2012. The photo Go Ara shared captured them from that time.
At the time, Go Ara said, "Having senior Ahn Sung-ki around made me feel secure throughout the shoot. He was so considerate that I felt I might have caused him trouble instead," expressing her impressions of working together.
The late Ahn Sung-ki also said of Go Ara, "Even when she came to the set she performed very well and greeted people so well it was surprising. She is a hardworking actor. Truly a fine actor."
The late Ahn Sung-ki passed away on the morning of the 5th at 9 a.m. while receiving treatment in the intensive care unit at Soonchunhyang University Hospital in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, with his family at his side. He was 74.
The funeral hall was set up in room 31 of the Seoul St. Mary's Hospital funeral hall, and the funeral will be held as a "film industry funeral" for five days. The funeral procession will be at 6 a.m. on the 9th, and the burial site is Yangpyeong Byeolgeurida.
