Actor Im Hyun-sik confessed he had a near-death experience but survived.
Im Hyun-sik appeared as a guest on MBN's "Body Insight," which aired on the 5th.
Im Hyun-sik, who appeared in popular historical dramas such as the drama "Heo Jun" and "Dae Jang Geum," is an elder actor still remembered as a delightful supporting presence. Born in 1945, he turned 81 this year (international age 80). At an advanced age beyond his eighties, concerns about his health arose. In fact, on "Body Insight" he drew attention by citing "near-death" as a keyword.
In this regard, Im Hyun-sik said, "Rather than saying I died and came back to life, I was almost dead and then lived," and added, "After finishing filming and on my way home, I felt chest pain. I had felt this pain several times, and I felt it that day as well. There was no one at home and I was alone, so I went straight to the emergency room. I was diagnosed with acute myocardial infarction and underwent a heart stent insertion procedure," he confessed, shocking viewers.
He even said, "There was a time I lost consciousness while spraying pesticide." He said, "I was wearing a mask and disinfecting to sanitize apple trees when suddenly dizziness came over me. My head felt heavy and the sensation was strange. Neighbors found me collapsed and called 119, and I went to the emergency room. Thanks to the neighborhood people, I survived," and added that he even experienced hallucinations of thousands of ants crawling, which made the situation more tragic.
According to a specialist, inhaling pesticide during weeding operations can immediately irritate the lungs and airways. This can cause coughing, shortness of breath and dizziness, and in extreme cases can lead to acute poisoning. As a result, Im Hyun-sik's health after returning from the brink of death drew attention.
