'Namdarimaek' Yoon Nam-gi and Lee Da-eun cared for their 17-month-old son, who was suffering from a high fever.
On the 5th, a video titled "A 39-degree fever I've never experienced before" was uploaded to the 'Namdarimaek' channel.
In the early hours of Christmas Day, Yoon Nam-gi and Lee Da-eun kept vigil over their son Nam-ju's fever since the day before. Yoon Nam-gi said, "Today is Christmas. Originally, as we did every year, a trip had been planned, but last year, because Nam-ju was so young, we went on a hotel staycation 15 minutes from home. But now Nam-ju has been to Gangwon Province many times, so we scheduled a trip, but two days earlier Nam-ju got sick. He had a 39-degree high fever and was still not well this morning, so we got a flu test, and fortunately it wasn't the flu, so we were relieved."
He recalled the previous day, when he was anxious because Nam-ju's condition was poor: "Anyway, we canceled the trip. Both of us stood vigil over Nam-ju's fever, and for two days Lee Da-eun and I literally went through hell. Fortunately, the fever has come down a lot now so he's okay, but he doesn't want to sleep and keeps asking to be held. So this year's Christmas will probably pass like this at home while checking Nam-ju's condition. Until yesterday I was really tense; even the slightest movement by Nam-ju made me anxious, and he vomited once at night while coughing."
She continued, "Anyway, raising a baby isn't ordinary. When Ri-eun was a baby, Ri-eun was also quite sick. I remember standing vigil over Ri-eun's fever. But fever watch is different with Ri-eun. Ri-eun quietly stayed in my arms, but Yoon Nam-ju struggles and thrashes. It suddenly reminds me of when I first kept vigil over Ri-eun. Back then I didn't even know exactly how to give a fever reducer; the teacher explained it to me, but because I was anxious I looked it up every time I gave the fever reducer. Now, well. As for giving Yoon Nam-ju fever reducers, that's that," she said, adding, "Don't get sick, kids.." with concern.
The next day, on Christmas, Nam-ju's fever began to rise again. Watching Nam-ju asleep in Yoon Nam-gi's arms, Lee Da-eun worried, "As you can see, Nam-ju is glued to his dad. I don't think I should be speaking in such an excited voice. Because he's not feeling well, he seems to cling to dad about five times more than usual. I want to help somehow, but he won't come to me, and when he does come to me he bursts into uncontrollable crying, so I'm frustrated."
Yoon Nam-gi joked, "There is one solution. I'll take Ri-eun on an overseas trip for a week," and Lee Da-eun, screaming "No!", vowed, "Although I'm upset that all our plans were ruined, I'll do my best to give the children a pleasant Christmas."
Later, at 6:35 p.m., Lee Da-eun turned the camera back on and said, "There really was no time to film during the day." Yoon Nam-gi explained, "Nam-ju fell asleep so I quickly went to buy a cake. While I was gone he woke up and caused a fuss, crying and yelling," and Lee Da-eun said, "He was with me, then as soon as dad came he vomited once and now he's clinging to dad like glue." She added, "Fever, vomiting, coughing, crying... he's going through the biggest crisis of his 17-month life."
Lee Da-eun said, "He hasn't eaten well for three days so he seems to have lost some weight. Nam-ju usually likes strawberries, but he barely ate a few and even those he vomited up," she said sadly. Fortunately, Nam-ju regained his strength a short time later, and they warmed hearts by enjoying a small Christmas party with the cake Yoon Nam-gi had bought.
