Laboum alum Yulhee recalled the difficult time she suffered from folliculitis.
On the 5th, Yulhee, responding to a fan's question asking for folliculitis care tips, revealed her photo saying, "Really.. even when the image quality is bad, even when I'm wearing makeup, do you see the skin condition bursting through..?"
The photo showed Yulhee during the time she suffered from folliculitis. Earlier she said, "Last year.. folliculitis spread from somewhere and my face went crazy and my skin tone, which had been severely darkened in the summer.. I'm starting management this year," revealing that she had suffered from folliculitis last year.
Folliculitis is a condition in which inflammation occurs in the hair follicles that produce hair under the skin due to bacterial infection or chemical or physical irritation. In the photo, although Yulhee covered her face with makeup, the inflammations appearing in various parts of her face stood out and drew attention. In response, Yulhee said, "It was agonizing to look in the mirror every single day," expressing her feelings.
She said, "I went to the hospital and was diagnosed with folliculitis and was prescribed two kinds of medicine, but there was no improvement at all, and instead my dry face became an even drier desert. So I decided to start with simple things one by one," and shared her own care method.
Yulhee then suggested tips such as "using disposable face towels," "immediately washing and drying brushes, puffs and anything that touches the face after finishing makeup," and "using beauty devices." She also expressed embarrassment, saying, "But it's so embarrassing lol, people with good skin please close your eyes and pass by."
Meanwhile, Yulhee married FTISLAND's Choi Minhwan in 2017 after becoming pregnant before marriage and has a son and twin daughters. Later, in December 2023 she announced a consensual divorce and handed over custody to Choi Minhwan, but when disputes arose in 2024 over the grounds for divorce, she shocked the public by exposing details of Choi Minhwan's private life. Yulhee then filed a mediation request seeking a change of the custodial parent and claims for spousal support/asset division. Choi Minhwan left broadcasting and suspended activities temporarily following Yulhee's revelations. He was also reported to the national online petition service on suspicions of prostitution and sexual assault, but the case was disposed of without indictment due to insufficient evidence.<
