Netflix variety show Single's Inferno season 5 has released a main poster and a main trailer that send dopamine soaring.
Single's Inferno, which will be released worldwide on Jan. 20, is a candid and fiery dating reality show featuring singles on a remote island called "Jigokdo," where only couples can leave. Single's Inferno, which proved it is the "absolute ruler" of dating reality after launching its first season in 2021 and continuing to generate global buzz, returns for a fifth season with even hotter singles.
The main poster released that day first revealed the visuals of seven cast members for this season, drawing attention. The phrase "a flirting war that crosses the line" added to the alluring visuals of the singles instantly raises expectations. As season after season has featured headline-making figures such as Freesia, Dex (Kim Jin-young), Lee Kwan-hee, and Lee Si-an, attention is focused on which attractive singles this season will stimulate viewers' romantic instincts.
The main trailer released together teases a more daring and intensified flirting war among the singles. The relentless advances of singles who honestly express feelings — following close-contact skinship with "I think I'm really falling in love," "How is it? The taste of someone younger?" and "I want you" — are dizzying. In particular, the fifth-year veteran MCs of Single's Inferno and "dating show" masters Hong Jin Kyung, Lee Da-hee, Hanhae, Kyuhyun and Dex all praised, "Season 5 is crazy," and the flirtatious scenes of these "love experts" exceed imagination.
Above all, this season again induces over-immersion with stories more dramatic than drama that can only be seen in Single's Inferno. From fierce emotional clashes such as "You touching the queen's man? Are you hitting on him?" and "Don't boss me around" to lush, tender melodrama and unpredictable thrilling twists, it promises the birth of an all-time great season that even the five MCs with maxed-out "dating show" skills were shaken by. Moreover, the shocking line "Can I leave Single's Inferno with two men?" knocked the five MCs flat with their stunned reactions, making viewers even more eager to see the singles oscillate between sweeter, more thrilling heavens and the heated "Jigokdo," pulling at their hearts.
Producers Kim Jaewon, Kim Junghyun and PD Park Suji said, "This season had more protagonists than any other season," and emphasized the distinction, "Rather than focusing the story on one or two star contestants, it felt like a multi-cast movie like Love Actually, where various characters each show their own narratives interestingly."
Hong Jin Kyung said, "It was fun to watch how the characters' inner selves change within the confined spaces of Heaven and Jigokdo and within a set period," noting the pleasure of observing emotions that change from moment to moment. Lee Da-hee noted, "Rather than playing hard to get or hiding their feelings like before, it was impressive that when attraction arises they express it relatively quickly and confidently reveal their choices," pointing out the charms of this season's singles.
Kyuhyun picked the main keyword for Single's Inferno season 5, saying, "The contestants' unrestrained actions are the point," and Hanhae added curiosity about the season's provocative missions, saying, "There was a mission that appeared for the first time in the history of Single's Inferno, and seeing the contestants' emotional changes made me realize such things can have a big impact."
Finally, Dex said, "I think the biggest charm of this season is the contestants' individuality. Because many diverse and inscrutable contestants appear, if you watch for the fun of guessing whose heart each contestant's feelings are directed toward, you will enjoy it through to the final episode," giving viewers a viewing point.
