broadcaster Jeong Hyung Don expressed displeasure and exploded in anger over 'fake news' surrounding his wife Han Yura.
On the 6th, a video titled 'Why are people insulting my wife? Let's not make money from things like this in 2026' was posted on the YouTube channel 'Mungchin TV'.
In the video, Jeong Hyung Don, after checking a short titled 'The reason Jeong Hyung Don's wife Han Yura is being insulted,' could not hide his astonishment and said, "What is this. Why is my wife being insulted?"
The controversial short included sensational claims such as 'Jeong Hyung Don said he reduced his debt to a quarter at the time of marriage,' 'his spouse took control of the household finances after marriage,' and 'because of this, the marriage registration was delayed by 11 months.'
Jeong Hyung Don acknowledged the parts about reducing debt and the finances by saying, "It was like that in the early stages [of marriage]," but drew the line at claims that blamed the delayed marriage registration on 'debt,' saying, "What are you talking about. It's not that we didn't register because of debt."
The fake news did not end there. The short also included claims such as "Jeong Hyung Don, who continued living as a separated father, developed a mental illness and stopped broadcasting" in reference to his wife and two daughters staying in Hawaii. Hearing this, Jeong Hyung Don reacted with disbelief, saying, "Are you saying my wife and the kids went to Hawaii to study and I developed a mental illness and stopped broadcasting? What am I supposed to do about this?"
Particularly, Jeong Hyung Don exploded in anger when the claim that "the wife did not come to Korea even when his mother died" appeared. He raised his voice, saying, "She came. She came with the kids and the kids' mother. Of course she came," and added, "It's ridiculous that I have to explain this."
What made Jeong Hyung Don even more devastated was the scale of the reaction. After seeing that the video had more than 5,000 comments, he lamented, "There are as many as 5,449 comments on this. It's ridiculous that I have to explain this," and pointed out, "It's more aggravating that people are making money from this. They post these comments because people watch and believe this, don't they?"
Jeong Hyung Don criticized, "Is it acceptable to butcher a well-off family like this at will? It's so hurtful," and warned, "What kind of mindset does someone have to make things like this? Let's not make money from things like this in 2026." He added, "In 2026, live somewhat decently. Let's live like decent people."
Meanwhile, Jeong Hyung Don married Han Yura, a former broadcast writer, in 2009, and they have twin daughters.
