Okdal's Kim Yoon-joo showed the side of a 'real boss' who puts down her own pride for the artists under Wowsan Records.
On the 4th episode of KBS2's 'The manager's ears are donkey ears,' Kim Yoon-joo was shown stepping in personally to ensure the success of her agency's season song project.
On that episode, Kim Yoon-joo opened up about the honest and human anguish she felt in her relationship with 10cm's Kwon Jung-yeol, who is both her husband and a fellow singer. As a musician walking the same path, Kim recalled that when her husband's song rose to the top of the charts she found herself unable to fully celebrate. She said candidly, "I'm a musician too, but as differences emerged (between us) I found myself at some point unable to celebrate. It was a blow to my pride."
But Kim Yoon-joo confessed the next day to her husband about the regret she felt, saying, "I had pride in that area," and explained that through honest conversation they were able to express their feelings in a healthy way. She added that they now respect each other's paths by not touching each other's work areas and have become a mature 'musician couple.'
In particular, Kim Yoon-joo showed a sense of responsibility as a leader who looks after the agency and its artists above her personal pride. She sought advice from senior boss Song Eun I for the season song project promotion together with Thunder Lily and Jang Deul-re, and after receiving the biting advice that "a boss must be in a position to eat dirt for the staff," she personally arranged a meeting with the production team of KBS2's The Seasons, which her husband is hosting.
Kim Yoon-joo pressured the production team with the extreme measure of saying, "If they can't appear, I won't release the song," to secure appearances for her artists. Although she usually avoided benefiting from her husband's spotlight, she willingly played the 'couple two-shot' card if it meant introducing the artists to the world.
