'Extreme 84' Tsuki succeeded in completing her first full course.
In episode 6 of MBC variety show 'Extreme 84,' which aired on the 4th, the Extreme Crew began full preparations ahead of their final challenge, the Arctic Marathon.
That day, after passing the half marathon 21km point, Tsuki tripped on a large rock and twisted her right foot. And with the pain that began, Tsuki faced a crisis.
Eventually stopping her steps, Tsuki said, "The remaining 20km was hell. I think everything was completely gone," and, "At this rate I might not be able to finish," she showed tears of frustration.
In a subsequent interview, he said, "At first it was kind of happy tears when it started. In the latter part it was like, 'You have to do it, Tsuki. You have to finish. It's frustrating,'" he confessed.
Despite pain like his toenails were going to come off, Tsuki did not give up and kept running. Then he met Kwon Hwa Woon, who had offered to be a 'pacer,' and with his help Tsuki set a time of 6 hours, 17 minutes, 45 seconds and succeeded in completing her first full-course marathon.
As soon as the marathon ended, Tsuki, overcome with emotion, boasted about her finishing medal and burst into tears during a video call with her mother. Tsuki said, "It was so hard," and Kwon Hwa Woon, watching beside her, soothed her, saying, "You worked hard."
Above all, Tsuki had promised 14 years ago that after her father succeeded in completing the wine marathon, she too would succeed in finishing. Having kept that promise, Tsuki proudly showed the medal she had won, and Tsuki's father praised her, saying, "Amazing."
Moved by the sight of the two, You Se Yoon said, "A father and daughter with the same medal," expressing emotion.
