Actor Lee Young-ae mourned the late Ahn Sung-ki.
On the 5th, Lee Young-ae posted on her social media, "Senior Ahn Sung-ki.. I pray for the deceased's happiness♥" along with a photo of Ahn Sung-ki.
Earlier, in 2018, Lee Young-ae donated 100 million won to the Shin Young-kyun Art and Culture Foundation, of which the late Ahn Sung-ki was chairman.
At the time, Ahn Sung-ki released, "Lee Young-ae sympathized with the foundation's purpose and generously donated 100 million won. She asked that it be used for our filmmakers. In keeping with that intention, I will ensure the 100 million won is used for good causes and for filmmakers."
Meanwhile, according to his agency Artist Company on the 5th, Ahn Sung-ki died at 9 a.m. that day at the age of 74.
Ahn Sung-ki, who was diagnosed with blood cancer in 2019, continued chemotherapy and was declared cured in 2020, but a recurrence was confirmed six months later during a regular checkup, and he began treatment again.
However, on the 30th of last month, while eating, food became lodged in his throat and he collapsed; he was taken to the hospital in cardiac arrest and received treatment but ultimately did not recover and passed away.
Ahn Sung-ki's funeral hall will be set up in room 31 of Seoul St. Mary's Hospital funeral hall. The funeral procession will be at 6 a.m. on the 9th, and the burial site is Yangpyeong Byeolgeurida.
The funeral will be held as a film industry funeral under the auspices of the Shin Young-kyun Art and Culture Foundation and The Korea Film Actors Association. Honorary chairmen Shin Young-kyun and director Bae Chang-ho, Korea Film Actors Association Chairman Lee Gap-seong, acting director of the Shin Young-kyun Art and Culture Foundation Shin Eon-sik, and Korea Film Association Chairman Yang Yun-ho served as four co-funeral committee chairmen, and actors Lee Jung-jae, Jung Woo-sung and other film industry figures will carry the casket to see the deceased off.
