'14 million-subscriber YouTuber' Hamji made a major announcement.
Hamji uploaded a video on the 4th titled "Major announcement! Thank you all for everything."
In the video, Hamji opened by saying, "This isn't an eating show, so you might be surprised. I uploaded this video because I have something to tell my subscribers."
She went on, "Before I knew it, it's been eight years since I started YouTube. I started in my late 20s and I'm already in my mid-30s," she reflected, adding, "I started the YouTube channel together with my boyfriend, who helped grow the channel, and we've become a couple of 10 years, but we've both gotten older. If we don't make a decision now, another year or two will pass and we'll only get older. For plans to have children, we've decided to pause the mukbang channel for the time being," she announced the temporary suspension of the mukbang channel.
However, she said she will not stop posting all videos and will release pre-recorded shorts and vlogs. Hamji said, "From time to time I'll upload a long-form video as a sign of life," she said.
Finally, Hamji said, "It was not an easy decision, but with the new year and this big resolution, I'm going to take a good rest, eat healthily, quit drinking, go to the hospital, and try to have a second child in 2026," sharing her new year plans and receiving much support.
