KBS2's new daily drama Red Pearl, scheduled to premiere in February (written by Kim Seo Jeong, directed by Kim Seong Geun, produced by DK E&M and Monster Union), is a meticulously crafted and intense chronicle of revenge in which two women who return under false identities uncover the sins and truths hidden within the Adel family.
Director Kim Seong Geun, who demonstrated a keen directorial sense in numerous works such as My Merry Marriage, Udangtangtang Family and It's Beautiful Now, directs, and writer Kim Seo Jeong, known for solid writing, penned the script. With Park Jin Hee and Nam Sang Ji confirmed to appear, anticipation among prospective viewers has risen considerably.
Actor Park Jin Hee, who has heightened immersion with charismatic performances in works such as Taejong Yi Bang Won, Love Scene Number# and Return, takes on dual roles as twin sisters Kim Myeong Hee and Kim Dan Hee in this drama. The older sister Kim Myeong Hee is a gentle-hearted nurse who dreams of an ordinary family but faces unexpected truths and meets a tragic fate. After learning the truth about her sister's death, the younger sister Dan Hee decides to abandon her own life and live under her sister's name, embarking on a calculated revenge to seize the Adel Group. The finely built narrative of Dan Hee, constructed like a cut diamond, and Park Jin Hee's deeply grounded acting combine to create an anticipated synergy.
Nam Sang Ji plays a character who, after losing her family in an unfortunate accident, abandons her name and identity for revenge and lives as world-renowned brand consultant Chloe Lee. Her ordinary life collapses in an instant, and she enters the Adel Group under a new identity to prepare a meticulous revenge, but an unexpected setback begins to shake the plan. Having shown diverse acting through Udangtangtang Family and Come On, My Life, attention is focused on how Nam Sang Ji will portray a character with dramatic transformation.
