'Extreme 84' Kangnam said that after running he lost 20kg and that his relationship with his wife, Lee Sang-hwa, has improved.
On the 4th episode of MBC variety show 'Extreme 84', which aired on the 4th, the final journey 'Arctic Marathon' was introduced and Kangnam appeared as a new crew member.
Kangnam, who said he runs 15~20km a day, said, "I started running because of Kian84 and Kwon Hwa Woon," but "they ran so fast they left me behind," he revealed.
He added, "From then on my pride was hurt so I ran every day. I currently run 20km every day. I run every day without missing a day. My wife is that kind of person so she is trying to take on the Arctic challenge," showing his determination.
In the studio, Kian84 said, "Kangnam originally didn't run but started running in the summer of Aug. 2025. He lost 20kg. So Sang-hwa really likes me now. She made her husband look handsome," he said.
Kangnam, who said he often runs with Kian84 and Kwon Hwa Woon, said he was strongly motivated by the two. He said, "From then on I haven't taken a day off," and about Kwon Hwa Woon, who even runs home, he said, "What is he doing? Watching him run is unbelievable," causing laughter.
Deeply captivated by the charm of running, Kangnam even revealed that he once ran 52km at once, longer than a full marathon, surprising viewers.
Then Kian84 said, "There used to be pus on my chin but it went away," and Kangnam replied, "You were originally a pig so that's good. You became handsome."
Meanwhile, in response to Kian84 saying, "You look good running together with Sang-hwa," Kangnam said, "It became a shared hobby. We run often. Our relationship got a lot better. Because she exercises she treats me really well. She doesn't nag either."
He added, "But Sang-hwa's knees aren't good, so if I plan to run long distances Sang-hwa rides a bicycle and runs. So in fact Sang-hwa really wanted to go to the Arctic," he expressed regret.
In particular, Kangnam revealed, "Sang-hwa raised me well as a runner. Last time we went to Wangsimni. Suddenly she told me to get out of the car. She told me to run from Wangsimni to home," exposing Lee Sang-hwa's cruelty.
The distance from Wangsimni to home is exactly 15km, and Kangnam lamented, "I have no choice but to go. I can't give up in the middle. She doesn't even give me my phone. She doesn't give anything. She creates a situation where I absolutely have to go. After being raised like that I ended up doing it on my own."
