Choreographer Ria Kim and Choi Young-Jun simultaneously revealed wedding photos, surprising fans, and a day later they announced their stance in person, becoming the protagonists of the 'reversal'.
On the afternoon of the 3rd, the two posted multiple photos on social media with the date "Jan. 24, 2026." The released photos were obviously in a wedding photo concept. Ria Kim wore a pure white wedding dress and veil, creating an innocent and elegant atmosphere, and Choi Young-Jun wore a neatly tailored tuxedo, showing a different side from his usual look. The two sat back-to-back or posed side by side, evoking the image of an actual engaged couple.
Fans and colleagues immediately reacted to the unexpected release of the wedding photos. Hoshi left a comment saying, "Huh??," and Yena also couldn't hide her surprise, saying, "Really!!??" Acquaintances responded with comments like "It's confusing" and "Oh my," creating a puzzled atmosphere.
And on the 4th, just one day after the marriage rumor spread, the two revealed the truth through an SNS video. In a concept video that evoked tuxedos and wedding dresses, Ria Kim and Choi Young-Jun said, "Yes, we married dance!!!" and "We invite everyone who loves dance. Surprise, everyone," bringing laughter once again.
Ria Kim joked, "Were you really surprised? I think many people were surprised," adding, "After a long unrequited love and finally a real proposal, I married dance," and Choi Young-Jun added to the mood, saying, "Please give us a lot of congratulations."
But this was purely an event performance. The two explained the reason for the wedding concept was, "We gave a surprise greeting in the form of wedding photos to commemorate the '2nd 2025 Choreo Awards.'" They went on to say, "Many choreographers and dancers are preparing great stages," and urged, "Please come as it is a meaningful event."
They clearly drew the line regarding the marriage rumor. The two said, "We are very close friends," adding, "We hope there are no misunderstandings. However… it's true that it could be perceived that way," prompting laughter.
Meanwhile, the 2025 Choreo Awards is a ceremony that recognizes the contributions of choreographers and encourages the development of the dance industry, and Ria Kim and Choi Young-Jun will participate as co-hosts. The event will be held on Jan. 24, 2026, at the YES24 Live Hall in Seoul.
