Omniscient Interfering View Choi Kang-hee revealed why she collects trash.
On the 3rd episode of the MBC variety show Omniscient Interfering View (hereinafter "Omniscient Interfering View"), Choi Kang-hee appeared and was shown separating recyclables.
That day Choi Kang-hee drew attention by taking out a transparent trash bag from the balcony. There had previously been a visible cleaning bag inside, but she introduced the new transparent bag, saying, "I thought someone active in environmental movements would use it better, so I gave it to that person as a gift, and they sold it for 1,000 won, so I made two of them."
Saying she would start collecting trash again, Choi Kang-hee confessed, "I feel guilty about environmental problems, but separating recyclables makes me the happiest. Trash gets neatly sorted," and "I wanted someone else's items so much that I secretly took them and sorted them before."
Furthermore, Choi Kang-hee said she also writes about trash. She explained, "I only write on special days. I write because I wonder if it might help someone who sees it on social media," and that she records it diligently on every day she collects trash.
She added, "I wanted to take responsibility for my trash," and said, "Lauren Singer showed her four years' worth of trash. Seeing that made me want to try it too. Since then I've continued steadily. I'm very selfish. It makes me reflect a lot."
