Park Seojin expressed gratitude to his older brother who endured more hardship than him.
On the 3rd, KBS2's Mr. House Husband season 2 (hereafter Mr. House Husband) aired an episode depicting the travelogue of the three Park siblings.
Park Seojin, his younger sibling and his older brother traveled to Mungyeong. The three, for whom it was their first trip, boarded a small train and enjoyed the scenery. Afterwards, the three recreated photos taken in the past exactly as they were 30 years ago, evoking emotion.
They headed to the market to quell their hunger. While the younger sibling went to place an order, the two brothers focused on their phones without saying a word. Park Seojin's younger sibling carried various dishes with a happy expression. They healed while eating delicious food.
Park Seojin asked the two siblings about their impressions of the trip. Park Seojin said, "I have no memories from long ago," and the younger sibling said, "I hardly ever saw my older brother at home. I don't remember well." Park Seojin said, "When we lived on the island, it was before our fortunes declined, so we dug clams, picked whelks and played in the water. After our fortunes declined and each of us entered our respective life fronts, those memories were deleted and gone."
Recalling the past, Park Seojin added, "Working on boats wasn't the hard part. Seeing my older brother having a harder time made me angry at myself. Dad always said my brother was good at studying."
Park Seojin's older brother said that although he was good at studying he did not even apply to college, and Park Seojin expressed remorse, saying, "He wasn't the eldest son but the second, so he must have felt the burden of having to take responsibility for our parents. The phrase my brother keeps saying like a habit is 'bury it and move on.'" Park Seojin's older brother said, "I didn't have anything I wanted to do, and I didn't particularly want to go to university. Helping the person who wants to do it is the right thing."
