'The manager's ears are donkey ears' star Jung Ho-young left for a "gourmet workshop in Yonago" with Kim Sook and Yang Jun-hyeok, and Jung Ho-young loudly proclaimed "I'm the center," drawing attention to the background of his confident display.
KBS2 'The manager's ears are donkey ears' (directed by Choi Seung-hee; hereafter 'The manager's ears are donkey ears') is a program in which Korea's bosses voluntarily practice role-reversal and self-reflection to create workplaces where work feels rewarding. In the last episode it recorded a peak rating of 7.7%, continuing its streak as the No. 1 show for 186 consecutive weeks. (Nielsen Korea)
In the episode airing on the 4th, Jung Ho-young's "1st gourmet workshop" unfolds as he departs for Yonago, Japan, with Kim Sook and Yang Jun-hyeok. Jung Ho-young said, "I was invited to Tottori Prefecture because I'm a star chef. I'll go with Kim Sook and Yang Jun-hyeok," showing the confident air of a successful White Spoon. In response to his remark, Jun Hyun-moo and Park Myung Soo both protested in unison, "Why did you leave me out?", but when Jung Ho-young shouted from start to finish, "For a true gastronomic experience you must trust my judgment," and kick-started a Jung Ho-young–centered "gourmet workshop" itinerary, they quickly expressed relief, saying, "There must be a reason they didn't take us."
In fact, Jung Ho-young surprised Kim Sook by appearing at the airport in a bow tie suit like a successful businessman, a 180-degree change from his previous image. But soon he attracted suspicious stares at Japanese immigration. Kim Sook said, "She said when she saw Jung Ho-young's outfit she thought he was a Japanese comedian," still worried about his careless side.
But upon arrival at Yonago market, they were amazed by a variety of king crab dishes, from steamed buns packed with plenty of crab meat to assorted fish cakes and steamed whole king crab. When Yang Jun-hyeok devoured two king crab steamed buns by himself, Jun Hyun-moo said enviously, "Why don't we have this in Korea?", and Park Myung Soo licked his lips, saying, "It would do well if made in Korea."
The day's biggest highlight was White Spoon Jung Ho-young's impromptu yellowtail sushi demonstration. Broadcaster Yang Jun-hyeok, unable to pass by the yellowtail, flexed by buying a whole yellowtail, saying, "I'm the father of yellowtail, so it's on me." Jung Ho-young marveled, "Yang Jun-hyeok is the only person in this market who bought a whole yellowtail today," asking Yang Jun-hyeok, "Did you bring all your money?" When the yellowtail was served as sashimi, Jung Ho-young immediately prepared it as sushi and fed it to Kim Sook and Yang Jun-hyeok, showing off his White Spoon persona. Jun Hyun-moo praised him, saying, "Jung Ho-young succeeded as a White Spoon; it's amazing."
Whether the "1st gourmet workshop," led and headed by Jung Ho-young, can finish successfully and the Yonago expedition team, having tasted all the dishes to their fill through the gourmet workshop, will be revealed in the full broadcast of 'The manager's ears are donkey ears.'
Meanwhile, KBS2 'The manager's ears are donkey ears' airs every Sunday at 4:40 p.m.
