Park Narae, liked then unliked Kim Sook's SNS post… debate over conduct during self-restraint: "excessive criticism" vs "should have been more cautious"
Comedian Park Narae, who stopped broadcasting activities amid allegations of manager power harassment and the so-called "injection aunt" controversy, has had her current condition conveyed in an unexpected way, sparking heated arguments online.
Recently, a controversy erupted after it became known that Park Narae had liked a post on fellow broadcaster Kim Sook's SNS. The post contained photos of Kim Sook attending the 2025 MBC Entertainment Awards and the 2025 KBS Entertainment Awards, and Kim Sook had previously mentioned Park Narae in her acceptance speech at the MBC Entertainment Awards.
At the time, Kim Sook said, "It's been seven years for 'Save Me! Homes,' and I feel like I haven't been able to officially express my gratitude," naming the production crew and cast in turn, and added at the end, "including Head of Team Narae." There has already been one round of differing opinions over whether it was appropriate to mention Park Narae, who stepped down amid controversy, at an official event.
Afterward, Kim Sook shared her reflections on attending the year-end awards on SNS without a separate explanation. She said, "I want to thank the production staff. Seven years of 'Save Me! Homes,' five years of 'Midnight Ghost Stories,' and this year I appeared on 'Hangout With Yoo' and 'Seoul Music Festival,' so I had a busy year," and expressed gratitude to staff, family and fans. Park Narae appeared to have liked the post to congratulate Kim Sook on her award.
But online opinion split again over that action. Some internet users reacted critically, saying, "Is SNS activity appropriate while she is effectively in self-restraint?", "Given that her controversy has led to colleagues being mentioned, she should have been more cautious," and "If she wanted to congratulate her, she could have contacted her personally."
On the other hand, many defended her, saying, "It's excessive to find fault even with a 'like' to congratulate a close colleague's award," "Demanding that she do nothing is an excessive request," and "Silence is not the only form of self-restraint."
Possibly mindful of the controversy, Park Narae subsequently removed all the 'likes' she had left on Kim Sook's post. Opinions are divided over whether this was "a move mindful of public opinion" or "a choice to avoid unnecessary misunderstanding."
Meanwhile, Park Narae is currently under police investigation related to legal disputes with former managers. The former managers filed complaints and seizure applications alleging power harassment, aggravated assault, involvement in illegal medical practices and embezzlement, while Park Narae's side has denied the claims as false and responded with countercomplaints. Separately, allegations of illegal medical practices related to the "injection aunt" are also under investigation.<
