Actor Cha Hyun-seung opened up about what he lost while battling leukemia.
On Jan. 4, a video titled "What did I do on Christmas and New Year's Day?" was uploaded to Cha Hyun-seung's YouTube channel.
That day Cha Hyun-seung explained, "I'm going to the shop now. With this hair, you might wonder what kind of shop, but the woman at the shop told me not to shave it all by herself. I'm also thankfully having a meeting today, so I'll talk and have a cup of coffee, but before going I want to make it neat. Anyway no one will see it, but I'll make it neat and go."
He said, "I want to work. If there are auditions or things like that, please contact me. I want to work now. I've rested too much," showing his intention to return. After stopping by the shop to trim his hair, he moved to the meeting place.
But the next day, after turning the camera back on, Cha Hyun-seung delivered bad news, saying, "After going to the meeting yesterday I realized something. Because I was sick and had chemotherapy, much of the character I had before is gone. Some of the slightly strong vibes and things like that. So they said it might not fit this project very well."
He admitted, "Of course it's very important that the character matches the image," and said, "Honestly, there is nothing I can do right now. I can't get tattoos removed, can't do diving-type things, can't run hard, can't exercise vigorously, so right now all I can do is keep moving lightly, so I'll start with what I can do step by step."
He continued, "It can't be helped. So now on Jan. 1 I'm going to the gym to work out. What's the point of just lazing around? It's better to move even a little," and set out to exercise. Cha Hyun-seung added, "Today I'm going to another meeting. I have to knock on doors everywhere. The last one didn't seem like mine, so I have to go find another one," reaffirming his resolve.
