'Kim Ju-ha's Day & Night' Lee Ji-hyun and Jung Ga-eun showed completely different views on remarriage.
On the 3rd broadcast of MBN 'Kim Ju-ha's Day & Night', Jung Ga-eun and Lee Ji-hyun, who forged new lives after divorce outside of the entertainment industry, appeared.
All three, including Kim Ju-ha, were raising their children after divorce. Kim Ju-ha asked, "Isn't it difficult raising children?"
Jung Ga-eun said, "My daughter is so lovable. I hold grudges and I'm not good at speaking. But my daughter is cool," adding, "and yet she is really adorable. Before she goes to school she acts cute. Before going to sleep she says, "Mom, I miss you. Can I open my eyes?"" She said. She was still in a situation where she drew a lot of strength from her child in raising her. In response, Lee Ji-hyun said, "I miss those times so much. My daughter is a sixth grader. Waking up is different. So I miss when she was little so much," she said.
Then Kim Ju-ha said, "I'm really jealous. My son is a high school senior. He is so different from these two. When I said I would finish the news and do another program, he asked, 'Then will your pay be cut?'" adding, "When I heard whether it would affect me, I immediately said, 'Hey, you!'" which drew laughter.
However, Lee Ji-hyun said, "I have to worry, think and lead alone about my children's future, and when I have to decide alone. I'm a mother for the first time and I don't know the future, but because it's my children's future I worry more and when I have to make decisions, that's the hardest," she said, expressing with fragility but determination that she is a person before being a mother and also has conflicted feelings as a mother toward her children. Kim Ju-ha and Jung Ga-eun showed sympathy.
Jung Ga-eun spoke about her father being ill after her divorce. Jung Ga-eun conveyed her love for her father through a video letter. Hearing this beside her, Lee Ji-hyun sobbed. Lee Ji-hyun said, "Jung Ga-eun spoke very bravely and calmly. In my case, my father is in the hospital. He used to be very healthy and liked exercising, but suddenly had back surgery and his kidneys failed so he went on dialysis. Because of his age, recovery is not easy," she said.
Lee Ji-hyun reached the point of despising dating shows so much that she won't even watch them. However, Jung Ga-eun said, "I really enjoy watching dating shows. Watching things like 'I'm SOLO' gives me vicarious excitement," she said. Kim Ju-ha asked, "Have you not been hurt yet?" and Lee Ji-hyun shook her head, saying, "You haven't been hurt yet."
Jung Ga-eun said cautiously, "My mother doesn't ask me directly but asks my friend. She asks if I'm seeing anyone. Seeing me applying a pain-relief patch by myself seems to worry her. My daughter also hopes her father will come into her life. I'm slightly open-minded," she said carefully.
Kim Ju-ha said, "Still, I think it's better to live alone, putting a patch on and going to the hospital, than to be troubled by someone," adding, "Between the hardship of living together and the hardship of living alone, living alone is better," he said. Lee Ji-hyun said, "Divorce is not only painful for the other person but both families suffer. After my divorce an article came out and my parents were harassed with 'Your daughter's article came out.' So my mother told me that if possible I should live alone," she said, recounting the pain she experienced after two divorces.
