Singer Ailee shared an update on preparing for a second child.
On the 4th, a video titled "the start of the first year to become parents | hysterosalpingography, 2026 countdown, hiking Cheonggyesan" was uploaded to the Illyne wedding diary channel.
That day Ailee and Choi Si-hoon visited a hospital to undergo a hysterosalpingography needed before in vitro fertilization. Choi Si-hoon comforted her, saying, "the first step to becoming parents. It's scary, I'm nervous but let's go with an excited heart," and Ailee said, "I'm excited for sure. But I'm so scared. I'm worried it'll hurt. But this is all practice, right?"
In response, Choi Si-hoon said, "later, Coco, you really have to be good to mom and dad," conveying a message to the child they will one day meet. Ailee laughed, "I've already made a fetal nickname for someone who hasn't even been conceived," and Choi Si-hoon said, "Coco. I've picked a name," adding, "you especially have to be good to mom. Understand?"
After the procedure, Ailee moved to a restaurant and said, "I saw scenes I'd never seen before: expectant mothers lying on hospital beds. Some were in so much pain, some were still under anesthesia and just lying there. I had my fallopian tubes opened and it was so painful. I endured it, but what I heard right before going in was even scarier. They told me if it hurts too much don't endure it and be sure to speak up. Some people faint because they endure it. It was so scary," and she shared her feelings about the procedure.
He said, "after it was done they told me to lie down for about 10 minutes. While lying down resting, thinking about the expectant mothers I saw when I entered, I felt that everyone was so desperate. They were enduring hardship, pain, and suffering, all wanting children, and while lying there tears suddenly fell. I hope they all succeed. I hope they succeed as desperately as they want to and bring good news. I cried a lot thinking that. I cried with them," as he recalled the expectant mothers who, like him, longed for children and shed tears.
Meanwhile, Ailee and Choi Si-hoon also climbed Cheonggyesan on Jan. 1 to welcome the new year and check off one item from their bucket list. After trials and tribulations they reached the summit and prayed earnestly, "please let a healthy baby angel come," adding to the emotional moment.
