Comedian Heo Anna candidly shared that she is preparing for in vitro fertilization.
On the 3rd, Heo Anna posted a photo on her social media along with the caption, "They said they will retrieve the eggs on Monday, so I asked when I can drink alcohol, and they sighed," and the revealed photo showed her pursing her lips at the camera, drawing laughs.
Afterward, Heo Anna held a Q&A with her followers and calmly explained the IVF process and her condition. She said, "They said the follicles are growing well. When I went today they said they could see about six," and added, "There could be more during the procedure. We decided to retrieve them next Monday." She also confessed, "I'm a little scared."
Questions about IVF and drinking continued. Heo Anna said, "There is a method to create the embryo and transfer it immediately, but I will freeze it and transfer it later," and explained, "If you transfer immediately you can't drink, but if you freeze and wait a period before transfer like me, the hospital told me you should wait at least ten days after retrieval."
When a follower commented, "You have to stop drinking once you get injections and until egg retrieval. That's still immature," Heo Anna responded with a smiling video without saying much. However, when asked, "How can someone be ultra-positive?" she said, "I find things hard when they're hard. I'm not always a positive person," and added, "But if you live only negatively, you'll just make things harder for yourself," drawing attention.
She went on, "It's important to say when you're struggling. But if you start with thoughts like 'I can't because of my age,' there's no end," and added, "Positive thinking is good because you can stop at 'Okay, it'll go well.'"
Heo Anna was born in 1984 and married former comedian Oh Kyung-joo in 2019. Recently, she has been sharing the IVF process openly and continuing to communicate with others in similar situations.
