"Running Man" Jee Seokjin exploded with jealousy toward Yu Jae-seok.
The Jan. 4 broadcast of SBS "Running Man" was presented as a New Year's special. In celebration of 2026, the year of the red horse, the "follow the horse, bingo conquest" Race was held.
On that day, for the first broadcast of 2026, the Running Man members offered New Year's greetings in front of a golden horse statue. Meanwhile, the production team mentioned, "As we welcome a hopeful new year, there was good news," referring to Yu Jae-seok ranking first as "variety star of the year" for 14 consecutive years.
Kim Jong Kook marveled, "How do you do this?", and Song Ji-hyo said, "How have you kept it up for 14 years?" with a click of her tongue. Yu Jae-seok said, "It's not something you can do just because you want to, so I'm just thankful," as his reaction.
But Jee Seokjin shot a blunt comment, "I'll be sad if I end up second like this," and Kim Jong Kook chided, "Why say something bad?" Yu Jae-seok laughed, "You said the same thing last year," and Haha pointed out, "You are filled with envy and jealousy here." Earlier, Jee Seokjin had been embroiled in a cold-shoulder controversy after once again failing to win the grand prize at the 2025 SBS Entertainment Awards held recently.
Jee Seokjin, toward Yu Jae-seok, asked, "How do you feel? Everything goes well for you?", showing his jealousy and eliciting laughter. The members jeered, "Why are you like that!", and Jee Seokjin expressed envy, "No, everything goes well! How would that feel?"
Meanwhile, when Yu Jae-seok shouted, "Seoksam hyung 60!", Jee Seokjin snapped, "No it's not," and Yu Jae-seok said, "We will really throw you a 60th birthday party."
Jee Seokjin declared, "I'm 59 years and 13 months old. That's how I'll go!", and when Haha showed sympathy, he snapped, "What, you Lee!", then quickly apologized, "I'm sorry," drawing uproarious laughter.
