Actor Jung Jae-seong appeared as the father of the protagonist Lee Han-young, "Lee Bong-seok," in episodes 1 and 2 of MBC's Friday-Saturday drama The Judge Returns, which premiered on the 2nd and 3rd, delivering an overwhelming presence.
Jung Jae-seong, who devoted his life to his son but ultimately came into conflict with his son, the law and the scene, perfectly portrayed the tragic life of father Lee Bong-seok, bringing viewers to tears.
In the episode 1 flashback to 2007, which aired on the 2nd, Jung Jae-seong appeared as a demolitions resident fighting to protect his right to live, leaving a strong impression. In particular, his desperate acting as he fought without even knowing that his son Lee Han-young (Jisung) was among the hired thugs trying to evict him raised the tension in the early part of the drama to its peak.
In a subsequent scene, Jung Jae-seong was struck on the back of the head with a plank during the struggle and collapsed, and later appeared in a nursing home in a wheelchair. Jung Jae-seong gazed blankly into the air with unfocused eyes, saying, "Our Han-young should become a judge," conveying the sincere heart of a father who devoted his life to his son directly to the living room audience.
In episode 2, which aired on the 3rd, Jung Jae-seong raised the drama's immersion by portraying the miserable situation of being expelled from a convalescent hospital when his son Lee Han-young became a sacrifice of power, and moved viewers with the image of a father suffering helplessly in the crisis his son faced.
Meanwhile, The Judge Returns, which has attracted attention for Jung Jae-seong's distinctive character portrayal from the first broadcast and has raised expectations about what role he will play in the unfolding story, airs every Friday and Saturday at 9:40 p.m.
