'Trustworthy performer' Hyungwon of MONSTA X displayed his sincere side and remarkable variety skills, bringing the 'Ttorora' journey to a close.
Hyungwon recently finished his run on the web variety show Ttorora, released over about seven weeks on the YouTube channel SBS KPOP X INKIGAYO. Ttorora is a web variety show chronicling a cross-Canada trip in search of a missing aurora, and Hyungwon transformed into a 'K-pop aurora hunter' alongside singer Lee Chang-seop and Mamamoo (Mamamoo) solar, offering a delightful trip.
In the final episode of Ttorora, Hyungwon enjoyed the last leg of the journey in Yellowknife with Lee Chang-seop and solar. Studying Yellowknife's natural environment and history as they set out to find the aurora, the three visited local eateries and general stores, taking time to learn more about the area's culture.
Meanwhile, Hyungwon dubbed himself the 'detailed Yellowknife day guide' and led the members. Not only did he quickly pick items that suited each person, he also showcased a variety of background knowledge related to Yellowknife, raising the fun of exploring the town. Also, when filming challenges or taking photos, he emitted a sense of maknae charm with witty reactions and poses, creating an even warmer atmosphere.
At the same time, Hyungwon shared candid conversations with Lee Chang-seop and solar, honestly revealing life plans and thoughts on age that resonated with viewers, and he drew attention by showing surprising savvy, such as taking out the essay Lee Chang-seop had prepared in advance when they learned there was a book exchange on site.
Near the end of their Yellowknife exploration, the three finally discovered the highlight of the trip: the aurora. After witnessing the sky filled with green auroras, Hyungwon said, "This must be what it feels like to get goosebumps. It's so vast and mysterious it makes you reflect on life," offering an overwhelmed impression as he concluded his Ttorora activities.
Through Ttorora, Hyungwon perfectly played everything from the witty maknae to the exceptionally prepared 'ChaeGPT' role, displaying a range of charms that captured the hearts of fans and viewers alike every week.
Through his agency Starship Entertainment, Hyungwon said he was truly happy while filming Ttorora and experienced many overwhelming moments, and watching the released footage made those feelings even more meaningful memories because the emotions were captured as they were. He added that simply seeing the aurora itself gives great impetus to his daily life. He thanked Monbebe (official fan club name) and viewers for following the weekly aurora-seeking journey and said he would strive to show not only his music activities but also various other sides in the future.
Meanwhile, MONSTA X, of which Hyungwon is a member, recently completed the U.S. '2025 iHeartRadio Jingle Ball tour' successfully and will hold a new world tour, The X : Nexus (THE X : NEXUS), at Seoul KSPO Dome from Jan. 30 to Feb. 1.
