Group MONSTA X member Jooheon aims the new-year music scene with intense energy.
Starship Entertainment released a music video teaser for Jooheon's mini album 2 "光 (INSANITY)" title track STING (Feat. Muhammad Ali)(hereafter "STING") on its official YouTube channel on the 2nd.
The released video opens with the voice of legendary boxer Muhammad Ali, immediately capturing listeners' ears. The video, which begins with Ali's iconic narration "I'm gonna float like a butterfly, sting like a bee," piqued curiosity with a sensory sequence in which a butterfly in the frame transforms into a bee.
In the following scenes, Jooheon revealed a raw presence among speakers and tires placed on rough soil. Swinging a massive bundle of tires and enduring rocks tied to his arms, he emitted a frenzied energy as if breaking through limits, and his chic gaze, staring straight ahead even in such situations, delivered overwhelming immersion to viewers.
In particular, this video heightens the thrill by starting with Muhammad Ali's voice and ending with Jooheon's explosive shout. At the end of the video, Jooheon once again shouted the opening quote himself, foreshadowing the powerful statement he will make as a solo artist and leaving an overwhelming afterimage.
The new song "STING" condenses Jooheon's artistic ambition—to lightly take flight and leave a distinct mark at the decisive moment—into the symbol of a "bee." Reinterpreting Muhammad Ali's famous quote into his own narrative and further solidifying his musical identity, Jooheon will imprint his unique presence by unabashedly revealing his raw instincts through "STING."
Jooheon's mini album 2 "光 (INSANITY)" will be released on various online music sites at 6 p.m. on the 5th (KST), and Jooheon will promote his comeback with the title track "STING."
