ENA will exclusively schedule the TV version of 'Punghyanggo 2.'
'Punghyanggo' is a no-app impromptu overseas travel project that began when actor Hwang Jung-min mistakenly called Yu Jae-seok's talk content 'Pinggyego' as 'Punghyanggo.' It is characterized by traveling according to on-site choices and chance without applications, reservations, or plans, and the fun that unfolds in unpredictable situations offers an appeal distinct from existing travel entertainment.
On Nov. 2024, 'Punghyanggo,' released through the YouTube channel 'Ddeunddeun,' recorded a cumulative 44 million views and proved both commercial success and artistic merit by winning the Baeksang Arts Awards entertainment work award in the broadcasting sector.
'Punghyanggo 2' will feature actor Lee Sung-min joining for the first time as he departs for Austria with Yu Jae-seok, Jee Seokjin, and Yang Se-chan. After an advance release on the YouTube channel 'Ddeunddeun,' the ENA TV version will be scheduled as an expanded version with additional unreleased scenes.
Since starting 'World Dice Tour' in 2023, ENA has continued a strategy of expanding web entertainment to TV, and this 'Punghyanggo 2' will also be presented as a TV version with additional footage that could not be seen on YouTube.
Oh Kwang-hoon, head of ENA's content business division, said the channel's role is to broadly present content that people of all ages can enjoy, and added, "Through collaboration with the YouTube channel 'Ddeunddeun,' we will discover diverse content that breaks platform boundaries and further strengthen ENA's channel competitiveness."
Meanwhile, 'Punghyanggo 2' will begin with content covering the members' pre-meeting at 7:50 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 18, and from Jan. 25 will release full travel episodes through ENA. (The YouTube channel Ddeunddeun will have an advance release one day earlier)
'Punghyanggo 2' will be uploaded to the YouTube channel Ddeunddeun every Saturday at 9 a.m., and will be broadcast on ENA the next day at 7:50 p.m., including scenes not released on YouTube.
