Comedian Hong Hyun-hee forcefully denied allegations of using Wegovy and voiced her feelings of injustice. She also surprised viewers by confessing a "plan for a second child" as the reason she did not use diet drugs.
On the 2nd, a video titled "Angry Hyun-hee" was posted on the YouTube channel Hong Hyun-hee Jasson's HongSsun TV. Hong Hyun-hee, who recently drew attention for losing about 10kg, in the video gave an honest account of various suspicions surrounding her diet process.
Earlier, Hong Hyun-hee said she succeeded in losing weight through her own routine, such as intermittent fasting and dietary control. However, some netizens raised suspicions about diet injections such as Wegovy and Mounjaro, which soon turned into controversy.
In response, Hong Hyun-hee said, "This is the first time in my life I've felt a sense of accomplishment, and of course I appreciate the supportive comments," but added, "But I'm really furious. I didn't lose weight to show those people anything, nor did I ever say I was managing my health," showing her displeasure.
She said, "What set me off was that after the diet I got offers to model, but I turned them all down. That's because I didn't lose weight by taking something; I lost it through my own routine," and added, "I also failed for a year. I collapsed because I had a lot of work, and I just couldn't capture that whole process," expressing her frustration.
Her husband Jasson also expressed anger at the baseless allegations. He said, "Wegovy or Mounjaro aren't illegal, and if she had taken them we would have said so," and added, "They're used so widely these days, but even when you say it's not true, people don't believe you."
Hong Hyun-hee went on, "It may sound brazen when I said I 'managed my health for the child,' but I think I've been loved so far for my sincerity," adding, "If it were drugs, wouldn't there be yo-yoing in the middle? You'll see if you watch until you're 80."
She notably revealed the reason she chose not to take diet drugs and confessed a plan for a second child. Hong Hyun-hee said, "The reason I took better care of my body and didn't rely on drugs is because we are planning for a second child." She went on, "Because of my age I've been worrying about it, and if we're going to try we need to prepare quickly physically, and if there are drug residues that wouldn't be right, would it?" she explained.
She added, "This wasn't a choice thinking only of my body. If you consider the child as well, you can't easily rely on such drugs," saying, "That's a mother's heart," which drew sympathy.
