The son continued repetitive problem behaviors at school, such as scribbling on a friend's clothes or stepping on a friend. The situation was not much different in daily life. While playing badminton with his sister and her friends, Geumjok repeatedly made overtly derogatory remarks such as "You're stupid" and "You're so dense you don't understand, right?" as his sister's mistakes continued during the match. Watching this, Dr. Oh Eun-young offered a strong analysis of the child's behavior. She said "The level and types of profanity are very diverse," and pointed out that it was "behavior that publicly shames his sister in front of her friends." She added, "This child has an 'imagined audience' in his head. He feels that everyone is watching him and paying attention," and explained, "In a losing situation, the desire to show strength, to be in the spotlight, and to stand at the center of the group has manifested in these behaviors."
Dr. Oh also noted, "If he had been alone with his sister, he likely would not have acted this way," adding, "The surrounding gaze further stimulated the child's aggressiveness and desire to show off."
