Actor Jo Yun-woo abruptly announced his retirement and marriage, drawing regret from fans.
Debuting in 2011 through the tvN drama "Flower Boy Ramen Shop," Jo Yun-woo became known by appearing in SBS 'Heirs' (literal title: Those Who Want to Wear the Crown, Endure Its Weight), SBS 'Mom's Choice', KBS 2TV 'Tomorrow Cantabile', and SBS 'Mask', among others.
In particular, he left a deep impression by playing chaebol third generation Gu Se-jun in SBS 'Sister Is Alive', showing everything from his characteristic playfulness to a darkened side. But after announcing his retirement 15 years after his debut, the ENA series 'Namnam', which he appeared in in 2023, became Jo Yun-woo's final work.
On the 1st, Jo Yun-woo posted on his social media, "First, as the new year begins there is something I want to say, so I am writing this," and attracted attention by uploading a long post along with several couple photos taken with his partner.
He said, "After long consideration, I have found a precious relationship with whom I will spend my life, and I want to give up 15 years of acting to paint our humble daily life," and added, "I debuted at 21 and the years I spent focusing only on the job of actor for 15 years were truly precious, so after a long period of careful thought, I am finally able to say this now."
He continued, "Now I want to spend the rest of my life for the first time with the person I want to protect for life and have fun drawing it. Please watch warmly the everyday life shared with my precious partner who has been with me for more than four years and who is also my closest friend."
Thus, Jo Yun-woo chose to put down the title of actor and return to being the protagonist of an ordinary life. Although his career as an actor has come to a halt, many people are offering congratulations and support for the newly written 'second life.'
