On Problem Child in House, medical giant Dr. Lee Si-hyung issued a stern warning about the eating habits of broadcaster Joo Woo-jae, who is known as the entertainment industry's representative "news-poor".
On the 1st episode aired on KBS2's Problem Child in House, two giants of Korea's medical community, Dr. Lee Si-hyung and Dr. Yoon Bang-bu, appeared; they are still active as practitioners at ages 93 and 84.
Joo Woo-jae confessed, "Since my 30s I've been eating only 1.5 meals a day," and questioned whether such light-eating habits actually help with longevity or maintaining a youthful appearance.
But Dr. Lee Si-hyung, who is still active and vigorous at 93 this year, shook his head, saying, "I do not recommend a diet of eating only one meal a day." Dr. Lee said, "I practice light eating, but I always eat three meals a day," and revealed his personal longevity secret of maintaining a 12-hour fast while getting balanced nutrition.
Dr. Lee especially told Joo Woo-jae, "That kind of person is just a very special constitution," emphasizing that it is a dangerous diet that the general public should not follow.
Family medicine specialist Dr. Yoon Bang-bu, who appeared with him, also criticized Joo Woo-jae's "stingy" diet. Dr. Yoon said, "You shouldn't be too stingy with what you eat. You should eat enough for the activity you do," and advised, "Even if you eat breakfast lightly, it's important to enjoy a grand, joyful dinner with your family."
