Lead instructor Jeong Seung-je abruptly canceled a scheduled interview.
On the 2nd, the production team of tcast E Channel's "Life knockout: Jeong Seung-je boarding house" said in an official statement, "We apologize, but due to unavoidable personal reasons of teacher Jeong Seung-je, the round interview scheduled for the morning of Jan. 6 has been canceled. We ask for your kind understanding regarding the schedule cancellation."
Originally, Jeong Seung-je was scheduled to meet reporters on Jan. 6 to answer questions and talk about "Jeong Seung-je boarding house," but he canceled the interview citing personal reasons.
In relation to this, some have responded that it may be because of the recent indictments of fellow star instructors Hyun Woo-jin and Jo Jeong-sik. On Dec. 29, the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office Criminal Division 7 indicted Hyun Woo-jin and Jo Jeong-sik without detention on charges including violations of the Anti-Graft Act.
Hyun Woo-jin and Jo Jeong-sik are accused of exchanging college entrance exam questions through improper channels with teachers who had authored EBS textbooks or served as members of the CSAT mock test question committee.
Meanwhile, tcast E Channel's "Life knockout: Jeong Seung-je boarding house" is a program depicting a hands-on boarding house that provides meals and intervenes in residents' lives, starring Jeong Seung-je, Jeong Hyung Don and Han Sun-hwa. It airs every Wednesday at 8 p.m.<
