Actor Lee Si-young directly revealed the tense moments she experienced before giving birth to her second daughter.
Earlier, Lee Si-young released a "October 2025 vlog" on her YouTube channel "Bbusiyoung," calmly recounting the 20 days from an unexpected emergency hospitalization to childbirth. She gave birth to her second daughter on the 4th.
In the video, Lee Si-young sits in a wheelchair and walks down a hospital corridor, explaining, "It was an unexpected hospital diary. I was rushed to the hospital because of sudden bleeding, and I ended up staying in the hospital until childbirth." Having visited the hospital without a caregiver, she asked an acquaintance for help, and the acquaintance came running without hesitation and stayed by her side.
Even after her condition briefly improved, anxiety continued. Lee Si-young said, "I'm scared. Still, as long as the baby comes out healthy, that's all that matters," conveying her feelings 10 days before the surgery. Later, the bleeding worsened and she was rushed into a cesarean section, and she said, "They said today would be the most painful, and it really is," expressing her pain. She said the second daughter was born prematurely at 1.9kg and stayed in the neonatal intensive care unit. She also reported that because of placenta previa, insurance did not apply and about 8.9 million won in hospital bills were incurred.
Lee Si-young was previously at the center of controversy for implanting a frozen embryo without her ex-husband's consent and becoming pregnant with her second child without remarriage. However, her ex-husband expressed, "I will fulfill my responsibilities as a father," and the legal dispute was temporarily settled.
The post-birth aftermath continued on Ro Hong-chul's YouTube video released on the 1st, "People Ro Hong-chul met as he welcomed the new year doing what he wants." The two, who had trekked the Himalayas together in the past, reviewed the circumstances in a relaxed conversation. Lee Si-young said, "General anesthesia was not possible, so the cesarean section was done under regional anesthesia. I was awake for two hours," and added, "Only after the surgery did I hear from medical staff that a hysterectomy had been possible," which surprised listeners. She added that medical staff had not informed her beforehand considering the mother's anxiety.
Especially regarding giving birth at 44, she confessed, "It wasn't easy," but said, "Because I've been exercising consistently, recovery seemed different," and recounted, "My condition was clean so there was nothing to do. The professor joked, 'exercise,' " as an afterword.
Despite the crisis, Lee Si-young, who thought of the baby first, is currently recovering her health and continuing a new daily life as the mother of two children. Her candid confession, along with the reality of older-age childbirth, has resonated regarding the importance of physical fitness management.<
