Actor Kim Mujun once again proved he is this year's most notable rising actor by winning the rookie award at the 2025 SBS Drama Awards.
Kim Mujun won the rookie award at the 2025 SBS Drama Awards, held at the SBS Prism Tower in Sangam, Seoul, on the 31st, achieving remarkable results through the SBS Wednesday-Thursday drama Dynamite Kiss.
In the drama, Kim Mujun gave a strong performance as single dad Kim Seon-woo, the 20-year friend and male friend of Go Da-rim (Ahn Eun-jin). He convincingly portrayed a complex emotional line that included friendship toward Da-rim, pure love, a direct confession, and jealousy and checks toward a rival. After being released on global OTT platforms, reviews such as "the model of a warm man" and "rediscovery of a K-romance male lead" followed overseas, leading to the formation of an international fandom.
Immediately after receiving the award, Kim Mujun said, "I am grateful to receive this valuable award. I sincerely thank the viewers who loved the work and the fans."
He added, "I am truly grateful to have been allowed to play Seon-woo. Thanks to the fellow actors and staff, I lived happily for half a year," and declared that he will work harder going forward.
Meanwhile, Kim Mujun appeared in a series of works including I Know But, The Speed to You 493km, Lover, Sorry Not Sorry, and Dynamite Kiss, proving a wide acting spectrum regardless of genre. Having won the rookie award and risen as a global rising star, Kim Mujun's future steps are eagerly anticipated.
