HYBE and Geffen Records' global girl group KATSEYE released the visualizer for their new song "Internet Girl" on the 2nd.
This video, which visualizes the song's message, is full of Gen Z sensibility. It uses a multi-screen partitioning layout and playful emoji elements to actively portray the unique sense of speed and dynamism of online spaces.
SNS messages appear in succession to intuitively express the various gazes and reactions pouring in from the internet world. It captures the theme of "Internet Girl," which humorously unpacks an online culture where excessive attention has become normalized.
The video also includes stage scenes from KATSEYE's first North American tour "BEAUTIFUL CHAOS." Scenes of the "Internet Girl" performance on stage and fans responding enthusiastically alternate, conveying the six members' energy vividly.
A fan favorite track that feels like a New Year's gift from KATSEYE, "Internet Girl" saw a team of world-class producers come together to raise its musical completeness. Its flashy dance-pop sound and highly addictive hook are especially attractive.
Mattman & Robin, a Swedish producing duo who created many hits for Imagine Dragons as well as famous game and movie OSTs, participated in writing and composing. Mattman & Robin lead the global music market with sophisticated sound production that crosses pop, rock and EDM.
Composer Justin Tranter, who has worked with top stars such as Britney Spears, Linkin Park and Justin Bieber, contributed to the track. Producer Shawn Wasabi, who has drawn attention with a unique sound that fuses electronic and pop, is also credited.
Born through the "K-pop methodology" and a representative successful model of the "multi-home, multi-genre" strategy led by HYBE Chairman Bang Si-hyuk, KATSEYE has been growing at an astonishing pace since debuting in the U.S. in June 2024.
They placed "Gnarly," released in April last year, and "Gabriela," released in June, on the U.S. Billboard main song chart Hot 100. They were also named nominees in two categories—best new artist and best pop duo/group performance—at the 68th Grammy Awards to be held next month.
