YouTuber KwakTube challenged current baseball players to an apple grip strength contest and unexpectedly suffered humiliation.
On the 2nd episode of the MBN variety show Jun Hyun-moo's Plan 3, episode 12, which aired on the 2nd, KwakTube and Jun Hyun-moo met baseball players Oh Seung-hwan and Won Tae-in.
That day Jun Hyun-moo expressed his delight upon seeing the two players, saying "Daegu's superstars." Afterwards, the four moved to a restaurant recommended by Won Tae-in and during the meal suddenly started a "grip strength test."
Jun Hyun-moo took an apple out of his bag and proposed an impromptu apple-splitting contest, saying, "What's most important for a pitcher? Grip strength is important." KwakTube confidently stepped up, saying "I'll do it," but even while grimacing and exerting force the apple did not budge, drawing laughter. KwakTube eventually showed embarrassment, asking, "Is this a Daegu apple?"
Next up, Won Tae-in stepped forward and split the apple in one go without much effort, proving the grip strength befitting the "Lions ace." Watching this, Oh Seung-hwan joked, "It would be embarrassing if no one could do it," then surprised the scene by stepping forward and lightly slicing the apple with two fingers.
Jun Hyun-moo also attempted the apple but failed. The matchup ended in laughter as the overwhelming grip strength of the legendary closer Oh Seung-hwan was once again highlighted.
Meanwhile, Oh Seung-hwan began his career with the Samsung Lions and went on to play for the Hanshin Tigers and Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks in Nippon Professional Baseball, and the St. Louis Cardinals, Toronto Blue Jays and Colorado Rockies in Major League Baseball. He is the fourth player in KBO League Samsung Lions history to have his number retired; he finished five of the team's eight championships as the closer and recently announced his retirement.<
